What Does the Information Officer Do?
Our Information Officer is responsible for ensuring Nurture Network's compliance with POPIA and serves as the primary contact point for all matters relating to the processing of your Personal Information.
Responsibilities Include:
- Receiving and processing requests from data subjects exercising their rights under POPIA
- Handling complaints about alleged data protection violations
- Ensuring compliance with POPIA's eight conditions for lawful processing
- Liaising with the Information Regulator on behalf of Nurture Network
- Maintaining records of processing activities
- Overseeing data breach notifications and responses
Under POPIA, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:
Right of Access
Request confirmation of what Personal Information we hold about you and obtain a copy of it.
Right to Correction
Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or outdated Personal Information.
Right to Deletion
Request deletion of your Personal Information where there is no legal reason to continue processing it.
Right to Object
Object to the processing of your Personal Information on reasonable grounds relating to your situation.
Right to Restriction
Request restriction of processing while we verify accuracy or assess your objection.
Right to Data Portability
Request your Personal Information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

We will respond to your request within 30 days as required by POPIA Section 23.
If you believe that we are not processing your Personal Information in accordance with POPIA, you have the right to lodge a complaint.
